From September 26thto 29th,16 overseas students coming from 10 countries had their specialty practical trainingprogram in our college. They were chosen by the National Commerce Department ledby Mrs. Liu Xiaofang (assistant director of the international communicationcenter of Beijing Jiaotong University) to attend the “English Master Program inRailway Transportation Engineering (Rail Traffic Operations & Management)of Beijing Jiaotong University”.
On the morning of 26th, thereception was held on the 3rdfloor of the administration building. Themeeting was attended by Mr. Cao Bingzhi, the president of our college、Mr. Wang Hua, the deputy president of ourcollege、Mr. Xu Tongbao, the secretary of committeefor discipline inspection of our college、Mr. Tian Lei, the deputy president of our college、Mr. Xu Yaming, the director of the trainingcenter、Mr.Ma Weiqiang, the director of the practicaland educational technology center、Mr. Wang Xiaoran, the dean of the railway transport department、Mr. Hao Yanchun，dean of the railway signaling department、Mr. Guan Hongliang, the dean of the rollingstock department and Mrs. Sheng Li, the director of the international communicationcenter. Mr. Cao Bingzhi, the president of our college extended his warmestwelcome to the 18-person delegation led by Mrs. Liu Xiaofang at the meeting andhe introduced the conditions of the working process of the internationalcommunication and the development of our college.
16 students mastered in railway transportationengineering (rail traffic operations & management) of Beijing Jiaotong Universitytaught in English came from 10 countries namely as Algeria, Ethiopia,Brazil,Ghana,Rwanda,Cambodia,Republic of SouthSudan, Thailand,Venezuela and Kenya. As the purpose of the trainingprogram was to cultivate railway management talents, the practical trainingprogram on-campus and site practical training off-campus were included in the specialtypractical training program.
Based on the students’ demands on the railwayspecialties, they visited the practical training sites of the railway transportdepartment, the railway signaling department and the railway rolling stock department.Outstanding teachers of our college introduced the professional knowledge andthe operation knowledge in English, and students indicated that they had achieveda lot from their explanation.
Mrs. Liu, the leader of the program said thatthis practical training program had earned the highly attention of theleadership of our college. The impeccable railway specialty construction andthe advanced practicing training equipment utmost satisfied the practicaltraining demand of students. She would report the situation to their leadershipafter they returned to Beijing Jiaotong University and would like to promotethe further cooperation positively between two sides.
At the moment, the increasing overseasrailway construction work mount leads to the shortage of railway talents inmany cooperation countries.We can utilize the advantages of our college, can takethe advantage of our college, and use our resource to develop the internationalacademic education and training in China, so that we can establish a betterfoundation for improving the qualities of our teachers, expanding thepopularity of our college and promoting the international development of ourcollege.
