    A Complete Success of 2015 English Teaching Competition

    On October 30th, the English Teaching Competition was held byInternationalCommunicationCenterin Room 206 of the college training center. President Zhou Yunlong, together with Yu Sufang, Director of Academic Administration Office, and Sun Zhigang, Deputy Director of Academic Administration Office attended the competition. Teachers from other departments and offices also came to watch and learn.

    Before the competition, President Zhou Yunlong delivered his speech in fluent English and congratulated the competitors who entered the finals. In his speech, he also encouraged teachers to take this competition as an opportunity to lay a solid foundation while enhancing their bilingual teaching skills, so that they could promote their work to a much higher level.

    The jury of this competition was made up of Brain Barrons and Ivan Lopez who come fromMedicalCollege, and Yang Xiu, Deputy Director of Academic Administration Office, He Chunxia, Director of English Teaching Office and Zhang Dawei, Veteran Teacher of English Teaching Office.

    This competition has professional and non-professional groups based on English major. In non-professional group, the first prize went to Ma Xuezhen (Economics and Management Department). The second prize went to Liu Ye (Railway Signaling Department) and Dong Na (Academic Administration Office).The third prize went to Yue Dianxia (Electrical Engineering Department), Chen Tingting (Railway Signaling Department), Yang Zhe (Railway Engineering Department), ZhangHuiru (Economics and Management Department).

    In professional group, the first prize went to Zhang Linlin (EnglishTeaching Office), the second prize went to Zhang Jingbo ( English TeachingOffice) and Wang Xinli (English Teaching Office), the third prize went to Sun Xiaotang (AcademicResearchCenter).

    After the competition, Professor Brain Barrons made a full remark on the excellent performance of those competing teachers. And he was profoundly impressed that so many teachers majored in railway specialties could use English to teach in class. Additionally, he hoped they could go further on the process of promoting their English teaching level.
